A lot of good points expressed. Here in NY, it is illegal to hunt turkeys with shot smaller than #7-1/2 or larger than #2's. Back in the '70's I served as an officer in our state chapter of the NWTF. We talked a LOT of turkey. Because of our limited shot restrictions we did quite a bit of educating of hunters that head and neck shots with a well patterning gun would put dinner on the table. Body shots with #2's generally ended up as unrecovered game. Just my opinion, but because of how our regulations are set up in pushing for head and neck shots, they should make #4's the largest shot size. Once again - pattern your gun.
