Wrong, tech is much more interesting than disrespecting anything anyone said that one didn’t agree with. If it was truly a passion of all of you that left, then why do you just abandon something that needs support? THAT is what I don’t have a clue about, because I’m not a quitter. If you truly have a passion for the sport and the forum, which seems unlikely, why don’t you rally your troops and make it a FUN, HELPFUL place to be. The archery community wasn’t, and isn’t envious of bashers and quitters. I know we don’t agree on much, but I think we can agree that abandonment doesn’t usually lead to rebuilding something we believe in. That is what makes me sad.
Myself I lost passion for this forum when it changed. I don't like the layout, design or the interface at all. I'm all for rebuilding, however, as a beta tester for this forum we fought for many things that needed to be changed, revised and otherwise re-developed and it fell on deaf ears. We all voiced concerns that if the forum was launched in what has become it's current form that many would leave and it would not attract the new members like most companies would hope a forum would. That was a huge issue for all the testers because of what the forum meant to us. This is not like any other interface for a forum I've ever seen. People like familiarity in web design, especially with forums. Most do not like having to "learn" new interfaces, dealing with slow load times and otherwise poor performance. This forum at initial launch was incredibly slow and buggy. Those are things that drive people away quickly, it has nothing to do with people being quitters. I'm not a quitter and I think it's safe to say the others that were regulars are not as well! The reality is if people aren't happy with something they choose other sites and forums to meet their needs. This forum as I've said dozens of times was my home and the first place I came to when I logged on the internet and it saddens me to see what it has become. I think it's going to take changes on Mathews part to help get this forum back up to what it was. If Mathews truly wants this forum to succeed and grow they honestly need to re-consider this design, which was suggested ad-nauseum during beta testing and even months after, and go with a more familiar forum layout and design like wordpress or the myriad of other ones out there that are more familiar . I honestly also wonder if there is a slow down with regards to the interest in the products and possibly the sport as well. People don't seem as interested or impressed with what has been released the past few years which affects activity here. I also wonder if the economy has played a roll? Cost of bows keeps going up yet most peoples salaries don't, price of bows has gotten pretty high, not just with Mathews, which makes it harder for people to afford and buy.
