Another thing the scent manufacturers tell you is not to put the scent on your boots. Well, my BIL does that constantly, and 2 years ago arrowed the largest buck (170+ class) in his life! He had estrous doe on the sole of one boot and dominant buck on the other. The buck he shot walked in like it was on a leash!
My only concern with putting it on the boots is attracting direct attention to your position. I'd rather use a drag and leave it on the ground in a good spot for a shot. However it must work ok on the boots LOL. We're seeing a lot more movement especially at night. My dogs want out many times at dusk and through the evening now. They run out and bark near the woods (they're on a wireless shock system) and I hear the deer running and snorting. The dogs are a good barometer on deer activity - noticeable change in their behavior. I used to carefully place doe in heat and buck pee in established scrapes. Seemed that the deer quit using it. I've had better luck with the BowHunters Setup spray I used to buy at Cabelas (not sure if they still have it - can't find it online).
