Nock height is measured from the perpendicular on the bowstring. Since the nock set or top knot of the D-Loop contacts the top of the arrow's nock, setting the nock height half the width of the nock above perpendicular places the arrow's centerline on the perpendicular or 'nock level' to the bowstring. The QAD launcher when full up must be 90º to the shelf and support the arrow so that the arrow's centerline runs through the berger hole.
You can also use a level to set nock height. Plumb the bow in a bow vice, bring the QAD launcher to full up, and use a line level on the arrow's shaft to get 'nock level' or arrow perpendicular to bowstring.
