Hello my friends, since I have joined I have valued and respected your opinions and comments, and have learned alot. Once again I am of need of some sound advice. This year will be my first year for hunting Whitetail, and even though I have hunted for mule deer with my father in Idaho, hunting whitetail is a whole new world from the hunt and stalk of mule deer.. I have never gotten a mule deer but just the same I loved being out inthe deer woods with my dad and enjoyed his company.. I told myself that if I saw a decent 6 point this year and if he is in bow range that I will take him, but would this be unethical? should I give him a year or two and wait it out for a good 8 or better? I would love to get a bruiser buck my first time out, but I do not and would not expect that to happen. Being a hunter and hunting for food to feel my freezer gives me just as much joy as landing a trophy buck! Dont get me wrong I would be over joyed and delirious with emotions landing a trophy buck but I just want to set some realistic goals especially for just starting out and just learning the ropes of the deer woods and the inns and outs of whitetail hunting and hunting in general. Thanks everyone and I am eager to hear back with your views..
