I hunted with my Q2XL for several years. 38" A-2-A. It had little bit larger idler than the C4, so the overall length difference was probably less than 1" longer on the top and bottom of the bow. Never had any problems. In fact, it was a very stable bow. Was a great bowfishing bow, too! And as mentioned, many recurves/longbows are 60-62" and people hunt with them all the time. Though maybe not the current hunting bow 'style', the C4 should be great if you're comfy with it.
