I have a few thoughts: First, when you say you get a perfect tear with fletched shafts, is that at two distances minimum? ... 5' and 10'? It is possible to get a bullet hole at one distance, but not after moving back a bit. If this is the case, the bare shaft will show it up. Second, bare shafts are finicky. They will show up lateral string travel (idler lean, cam lean, bow hand torque, string contact with face, etc.) much more than fletched shafts. Finally, bare shafts are finicky about spine orientation. Rotate the nock on the bare shaft to see if the tear changes ... find the sweet spot for the nock.
