Ugh, Yeah, I'd definately steer clear of that shop. Sounds like it is time to invest in a press of your own. It will pay for itself over time, and save you some frustration. The EZ Green is hard to beat for $399 shipped from SouthShoreArchery. If you want a do everything press, get a Bow-A-Constrictor (more expensive though). If space is an issue, a Bow Time Machine would work great. There are lots of presses out there. Getting a press will save you money in the long run (how much does it cost to ship a bow?), save you time, and ensure the work gets done as you want. Plus you don't have to worry about shipping accidents. The only time I take my bow to a shop anymore is for warrenty work. Other than that, I do everything else. It isn't difficult, and there is plenty of help online on how to do something. As for sending a bow out to someone...I'll never do that again. I once sent a bow off to a supposed "super-tuner" (not a Mathews bow). It came back with nothing at all done to it. No super tune, not even in tune. At least he didn't break it. Hopefully you have better results than I did. Again, there is great peace of mind in the ability to do your own bow work.
