I make sure I have a good spot and background picked up. I like making sure that the picture is framed nicely and decently composed. I'm typically by myself, so I try to set the camera up on a tripod and get it all set up, and then use the timer on the camera to take the pick. Having the bow or the arrow in the picture lets everyone know it was bow kill. Sometimes I'll make sure the blind is in the picture as well... it really depends on the bird. If the Tom has a killer set of spurs, I'll try to get a closeup of them... If the dude has a rope for a beard, I'll try to highlight that. The tripod means a little running back and forth, but it can be worth it in the end, especially if you don't have someone with you to help. Take a bunch of pictures... something is bound to turn out well.
