I can't limit a bass application to just one blank. By casting I assume you mean you would build it to either bait casting or spin casting. I use different rods both length and weight for plastics, jigs, cranks, spinnerbaits etc. I guess if you want a rod that acts as a do all you can go with a 6'6" medium in fast action. Not sure what color the blank is. For thread comdo's I've always been partial to the Evergreen and gold or brown and gold combos on a bamboo rod but for the composites I don't have a big preference on thread color. My Loomis rods are a dark gray and I think the dark green and gold would look good.
[/quote:23cmyzgf] Application is of no consequence in this case. I will not get the rod back, but instead will be reimbursed for the cost of the blank. Baitcasting is what I am intending. The rod blank will be a charcoal color.[/quote:23cmyzgf] I guess I don't understand what the challenge is. On a charcoal blank I like the dark green and gold. Since it's one piece, ferrules don't matter and if application doesn't matter I guess the guides don't either but I tend to like the single foot guides more for spinning rods and the lower profile double footed for the bait casters.
