Yes, $$ does talk.[/color:y59t0cj2] A few commercials about gun owners being your neighbors, your friends, your pastor, your kid's baseball coach, the ladies in the quilting club...... Maybe a commercial with law enforcement explaining why it is important that citizens are equipped to protect themselves, their families, their neighbors. We're allowing the lib media to paint us as school yard bullies praying for a chance to whack the next guy that looks suspicious. Somebody needs to start citing statistics and making it clear that these shooters are not law-abiding gun owners. Nobody is telling them they're actually safer on the street, in the restaurant, or at the movie theater when responsible gun owners are around. Lack of information and familiarity causes fear. I am convinced this is the main reason for support.[/color:y59t0cj2][/quote:y59t0cj2] As I talked to you about earlier today, Brad, the people that are going to give us that bad "rap" are those like that guy who toted his AR around a JCPenny's in Utah. We are already fighting an uphill battle. Tonight on CBS they were doing a story about a mother whom lost all of her kids to gun related deaths. This was Chicago of course; but what people will take away from that story isn't the fact that her son was an ex drug user, or gang member, or that Chicago already has some of the most restrictive gun laws in America; people will hone in on the fact that each of them died from being shot. It is propaganda at it's finest, and people are naive enough to take it hook, line, and sinker. Any type of "fighting" that we do, must be done in an organized fashion. Living up to the Liberal's ideology, and the media's ideology is not something I want gun owners to be known for. One wrong step, and it can cost us big time.[/quote:y59t0cj2] This seems to be a very different tone than you took the other day when we were discussing what we would do. I thought the "show of force" approach is what you wanted and now you say the guy carrying the AR around is bad for the cause????[/quote:y59t0cj2] Show of force in numbers, would I join a militia and go around starting a war, no. Maybe I mis-interpreted that thread question a bit, but I certainly won't just sit here and write representatives.[/quote:y59t0cj2] That's exactly what I said the other day interesting because this is what I also said we should do: "call your lawmakers, write letters, organize a rally, etc. " so were you actually agreeing with me the other day? maybe I'm being naive?[/quote:y59t0cj2] Organize a rally, yes. But we need something more than just letters to representatives.
