I took my daughter to the local shop and let her pick a bow that she wanted, in a color that made her happy. (pink camo) Taught her the fundimentals, and just let her shoot. Close range at first and when she felt good, I extended her range. To make it interesting for backyard practice we hang water balloons in front of the target and take turns busting them. She also loves to go to the 3-D range. I try to keep it from getting boring so I let her keep a few blunt tips when we hunt and she will fling them at birds and rabbits, or a random piece of whatever is close. That also helps with her rangefinding ability. Hi fives for the hits, words of encouragement for the misses.
