Several years ago when I was Pres. of a large local club and was on the board for Several years, I started working hard for the kids. I even started a new set of stakes to shoot from. I felt the cadet stakes were to far for my son who was only about 4 at the time and decided we need a new class so the "Cub" stakes were installed. I also marked off a area for camping, and offered free camping to members, brought in good food for the Sunday shoots. If we had hot dogs, I bought the best and good buns to go with, and made the grilled chicken. By making the range family friendly and set up sand boxes, slides and swings, it made the kids want to come. Club went from a hand full of shooters on a Sunday to over 200 on a lot Sundays. The big thing was making it fun for the kids and that brought in people.
