I just bought a new DXT this week. After my local Mathews dealer set in up he handed it to me and ask me to go play with it at the indoor range. As soon as he handed it to me, I noticed the mathews logo on the top limb was smeared. Has anyone else had this problem? I did not say anything to him because I figure he would think I was and idiot. Matter of fact my hunting partner bought one the same time I did and his bottom limb looks the same. I am sure that it happen in the press. I know it does not affect the performance of the bow but it does looks like crap now. I have been shooting mathews bows for years and had them in and out of presses adn never had this happen. Just hard to drop that kind of money for a bow and it already look like it has been used for several years. Do you think this is something he would fix for us or are we just out of luck?
Would this be a warranty issue?
More than likely you are correct. Improper positioning and/or an improper press style/technique can and will cause "rubs" on bow limbs. Unfortunately for you, the gold limb logos are factory applied. So, short of swapping you limbs or ordering in a new set there isn't much that the dealer can do for you now. (Chances are also good that it will only happen again if this is indeed a pattern of happenings at the shop.) The great news in all of this is that you've come to the right place. While indeed only a cosmetic blemish, I have a feeling that someone from Mathews will offer a solution. Welcome to the forum. P.S. Don't ever feel ashamed to point something like that out to your dealer. I know for me, NOT being told by a customer that something wasn't to their liking (only to find out later) was always more frustrating than having to address an issue on the spot when I still worked in shops.
