Congrats on your determination, I find a log book is the best tool, right down your daily excersises and all the snacks you had that day you feel guilty about, then you can see progression and keep track. I don't have a weight problem (5,8" 175) but I do want my 40 pound backcountry pack to hurt less on day 4! I do fifty pushups, fifty situps, 20 pushups, 20 situps, and 200 jumping jacks every mourning. This is the best work out I can think of with 1/2 hour and no equipment. Any suggestions.
