Mike Davis began competing professionally as a result of his love for hunting. The people that have had the most effect on his archery career have been his wife and everyone at Mathews Inc for their constant support and encouragement.
His favorite part of being a professional archer has been all of the friends he has made. “The friends we’ve made are like our family!”
One of Mike’s favorite memories during his career as an archer was when he took a 175 inch Kansas whitetail while hunting with his best friends Jesse and Ginger Morehead.
Mike and his wife do 2 events every year in order to raise money for the Wounded Warriors and Super Kids charities. The money is also used to help pay for an archery camp for the kids at their church.
To all new archers just starting out, Mike says to “find a coach or someone who is a good archer, and then have them teach you the correct way to shoot your bow.”
When not hunting, Mike is spending time with his wife and grandson, fishing, camping, and traveling.
Mike Davis’s personal testimony regarding Mathews bows and Zebra strings:
“I have been shooting a Mathews bow since 1998 and have never had one let me down yet while shooting in a competition or hunting. I think that that’s awesome for the number of hours that I shoot every year! And with all of the arrows I’ve shot in the last decade or so, I have never lost a single Zebra string!”
