Michael Nicholson’s bows of choice when competing are the Conquest Apex and the Conquest Apex 7. When hunting, his bow of choice is the Mathews Monster. Some of his accomplishments include:
- 2010 IBO Triple Crown Champion- 1st Leg
- 2009 ASA Shooter of the Year
- 2009 IBO World Champion
- 2009 IBO National Champion
- 2008 ASA World Champion
Michael first got involved in the sport of archery through hunting at a young age. He was then introduced to 3D shoots by a friend.  It was there that he found the sport so addictive and then decided to take it as far as he could.
The advice that Michael would give to new archers is to stay with it, even when setbacks occur; and to learn to make a shot with a surprise release.
When not competing, Michael enjoys ATV riding, cookouts with family and friends, walking with his wife, playing video games, and working on old cars.
