Pro Staff: Michael Matzner

Michael Matzner has been enjoying archery for the past 10 years.   Michael competes in the Male Compound Unlimited class.  Michael’s bow of choice to compete with is the Conquest Triumph.  Some of his accomplishments include:

  • 2003 GP Porec – 5th place
  • 2003 WM New York – 54th place
  • 2004 GP Rovereto – 38th place
  • 2004 EM Brussel – 58th place
  • 2005 GP Antalya – 39th place
  • 2006 World Cup Porec – 28th place
  • 2006 EM Athen – 17th place
  • 2007 World Cup Varese 49th place
  • 2007 WM Leipzig – 61st place
  • 2010 International FITA Star Tournament in Spannber – 1st place
  • 2010 International Double FITA in Vienna – 3rd place
  • 2010 12th International Double FITA in Gloggnitz – 1st place
  • 2011 Austrian National Championship – 1st place

Michael says that his parents have made the biggest impact on his archery career.  The advice that Michael gives to new archers is to go to a bow club and look for the best competitors to practice with.  When he is not competing, Michael enjoys skiing.

Michael’s most memorable archery moment is when he won 1st place in Austrian National Championship in 2011.
