Pro Staff: Les Bressler

Les Bressler’s dad got Les involved in the shooting sports at a very young age.  Les has continued to shoot both bows and guns ever since, and has become a professional archer.  He competes in the Senior Pro division and shoots a Triumph, Apex 7, Apex 8, Monster, and a Z7 Xtreme.

As a first year Senior Pro, Les won the IBO PA and ASA IL tournaments. He placed in the top 5 in the IBO World 3 times and twice at the ASA Classic. Les also won the Georgia Southern Triple Crown tournament in 2005 and was second in the overall Southern Triple Crown rankings. Here are some of his recent accomplishments.

  • 2006 – IBO Nelsonville,OH  – 3rd
  • 2006 – ASA Augusta, GA – 3rd
  • 2007 – IBO Bedford, IN – 1st
  • 2007 – ASA London, KY – 1st
  • 2008 – ASA Metropolis, IL – 1st
  • 2008 – ASA Augusta, GA – 3rd
  • 2009 – ASA Paris, TX – 1st
  • 2010 – IBO Nelsonville, OH – 3rd
  • 2011 – ASA Illinois – 2nd
  • 2011 – ASA Classic – 2nd

His favorite part of competitive archery is the interaction with other competitors, and the satisfaction from winning.  His greatest memory in all of his time as an archer was shooting a 14 on the last arrow to win the ASA 2008 Illinois shoot.

Les travels to local shoots on weekends and interacts with other shooters of the area.  To any new archers, Les says to “take the advice of seasoned archers and use it to better your own style of shooting.”

When not competing, Les loves hunting and shooting with completion lever action rifles at steel silhouette targets.

Les Bressler’s personal testimony regarding Mathews bows and Zebra strings:

“I feel that Mathews bows are great.  They are always coming out with new and better bows each year.  The strings and cables are very good, you can shoot for a while and they don’t move.”
