Dave Thompson has been enjoying archery for more than 15 years and competing for approximately 5 years. Dave got introduced to the sport through both hunting and hanging out with the local taxidermist when he was a teenager. He competes in the Semi-Pro Division with his Conquest Apex 8, but he also uses a Monster 7.0.
Here are some of Dave Thompson’s most recent accomplishments:
- 2007 – National triple crown title
- 2008 – National triple crown title
- 2010 – 2 top 10 finishes in ASA
- 2011 – Augusta Ga. (Semi-Pro) ASA
He’s obviously a skilled archer, but he says that “without my wife Mandy supporting me, loving me, and taking care of our two boys (named Ty and Jacob), I wouldn’t be where I am today.”
He’s thankful for every moment that he gets to spend at shoots with his friends that join him in his love for archery. “It’s the best part of the whole experience,” he says. “If I had to give the greatest memory I have had throughout my whole time in my archery career, however, I’d have to say it’s when I got the phone call from Derek Phillips, who offered me a spot on the Mathews team. I’m incredibly thankful.”
When not shooting, Dave spends his time cooking, hunting, golfing, and spending time with family. Not to mention he’s also a NASP coach for the Logan Hocking school district.
