Carl Adkins competes in the Senior Pro division and uses both the Conquest Triumph and Monster 7.0.
Carl started hunting at a young age and has grown to the professional he is now because of the years spent doing it. He loves it! He still hunts a lot, even though shooting has become his job, and mainly enjoys hunting whitetail deer. “Each one is different and unique!” says Adkins.
He thanks God for giving him the ability to shoot, and his wife for supporting him. Those are the two that have made Carl’s archery career possible.
He’s thankful for every moment spent competing professionally because of the new friends he has met over the years at tournaments. He says meeting those friends has been his favorite part of the whole experience.
To any who are striving to become better shooters, Carl gives you this piece of advice: “Practice! But have fun shooting.” What a great reminder! It would seem easy but can become difficult over time; and Carl Adkins would know! Here are some of his recent accomplishments as a professional shooter:
- placed 3rd in ASA Florida
- won 1st in ASA Texas
- placed 6th in ASA Georgia
- placed 3rd in ASA Classic
- and placed 3rd in ASA Shooter of the Year
But in all his time and with all his archery accomplishments (which number many more than those listed above), he says his most memorable personal archery moment was winning the ASA shoot in Texas in 2011.
When Carl is not competing or hunting, he enjoys fishing and watching his son Ty race motocross.
