Bill Hakl wanted to become a more accurate shooter, so he joined an archery league at one of the local shops. One of the archers there was shooting in competitions and invited Bill to go with him to a State tournament. He decided to give it a try and instantly loved it. Since then, he’s been competing!
He recently went pro and shoots in the AMBHFS division with his Conquest 4, MR7 and MR6. Here are some of his recent accomplishments:
- 2011 – two National top tens
- 2010 – two National top tens
He loves to constantly be able to strive for more accuracy and higher scores in his shoots. He is the NFAA Director for Minnesota, helps captain 3 leagues at his local club, and helps his local club with the NASP program and introduces people to archery at local events and festivals. To all new archers, Bill says to “Set small attainable goals for yourself.”
In his free time, Bill loves hunting, golfing, and watching the Packers. His most memorable experience in his archery career was leading the first day of the ASA tournament at Texas.
Bill Hakl’s personal testimony regarding Mathews bows and Zebra strings:
“No matter what the conditions are, I can always count on the performance of my Mathews bows. And whether hunting or competing, I can count on Zebra bowstrings to not stretch.”
