Features

The Advanced Vectoring System™ (AVS) is a totally revolutionary cam system that enables higher levels of performance and efficiency than ever before.
Grid Lock™ Technology results in a stronger, lighter-weight riser.
Mathews Quad V-Lock Limbs™ are extremely durable and longer lasting because the pressure is spread out over a larger surface area, meaning there is less stress on the limb.
Traditional cable rods were subject to unwanted friction. The roller guard, another Mathews first, dramatically reduces system friction by guiding bow cables with low friction wheels.
The walnut grip on a Mathews bow has a distinctive layered line that indicates the centerline of the bow.
The Harmonic Stabilizer™ is another exciting innovation from Mathews Inc. The Harmonic Stabilizer™ will give optimum performance and dampen more than 75% of residual vibration!
While they’ve become the visual identifier of a Mathews bow, Harmonic Dampers are weights that float in an elastomer wheel to absorb recoil vibration in the riser. The reduction in recoil vibration is so significant in this Mathews technology that is has been licensed for use in other industries.
The Dead End String Stop by Mathews drastically reduces vibration and virtually eliminates post-release noise.
String GrubString Grubs aid in reducing string vibration in order to gain more speed.

Specifications

The IBO speed rating for a bow is reached by shooting a 350 grain arrow at 70lbs of draw weight and 30 inches of draw length. This is important to remember because unless you are shooting the same specs used to attain IBO speed ratings, your bow of choice will not shoot as quickly as you might think...read more
This is the length of your bow as measured from the axle of the top idler wheel to the axle of the lower cam. When it comes to applying these dimensions to target shooting or hunting it is important to consider how and where the bow will be used...read more
The term “brace height” refers to the distance between the throat of the bow grip and the string. Brace height is important for many reasons. First, the shorter the brace-height, the faster the IBO speed rating will be. This is simply due to an increase in the bows power-stroke. In other words, the arrow remains on the string for a longer period of time because the string must travel a longer distance...read more
This is simply the minimum and maximum amount of weight required to bring the bow to full draw. Typically, this weight range is 10 pounds. For instance, a bow with a 60 pound peak draw weight will have a minimum of 50 pounds. Likewise, a 70 pound draw will carry a minimum draw-weight of 60 lbs. Overall draw weight can be increased or reduced (within this 10 pound range) by simply tightening or loosening the limb-bolts on each limb...read more
This is the actual weight of the bow. Bowhunters who typically hunt in demanding terrain will often favor a lightweight setup such as the all new Mathews Hēlim weighing in at a remarkable 3.5 lbs. or the Mathews Jewel, DXT or Z7 Xtreme. Such bows make long hikes over tough terrain much easier as the hunter experiences less fatigue. This can be a real asset over the course of a long backcountry hunt...read more
The term “let-off” basically refers to the percentage of weight that is subtracted from the bows advertised draw weight. In other words, a bow set at 70lbs, with 80% let-off, will only require that the shooter hold back 14lbs of weight when the bow is at full draw...read more
In order to reach your full potential as a shooter and a bowhunter it is important to be relaxed and comfortable when executing the shot. To achieve this situation, the bow must fit you properly; i.e. the draw length must be correct...read more
The bowstring has two purposes. First, it is used to transfer energy from the shooters arms and back muscles directly to the limbs of the bow. This allows the bow to be “drawn” and thus store energy. Second, it is used as a catalyst to transfer that energy from the limbs to the arrow...read more

A Monster Year

I have shot Mathews bows exclusively since 2002. I bought the MR7 after test shooting one at my local Pro Shop. I have shot and owned almost every Mathews bow and this is one of my favorites. It is smooth, fast and quiet. You will hear some archers talk about “dead in the hand.” Well the M7 gives a whole new meaning to that phrase. Not only does it have no vibation on the shot, but everything that comes within range is dead. I not only won almost every 3-D shoot I entered with this bow in 2011, but I killed two nice buck, including one that grossed 190. I also got my first Elk! It was a cow, but I was as pumped as if it were a huge 6X6! Thanks Matt for your great bows and thank you even more for your personal beliefs!

MR7 Makes the Most of My Limited Time to Hunt!

I have archery hunted for 20 years now with all different types of bows thru the years. Shortly after retuning from Iraq in 2010 I purchased a MR7 in anticipation of the up and coming Kansas bow season. I knew right away in my practice sessions this bow was something special. This was confirmed in the results harvesting a great buck and 2 good doe’s that first season. Having limited time to hunt due to my everyday duties your product has helped me make the most of the limited time I have. Thanks so much keep up the great work. WOW

Everything I Have Ever Wanted in a Hunting Bow!

I recently purchased an MR7 to use as a hunting bow. I have owned many bows over the years, but never a Mathews. I am one of those guys that will purchase 2-3 bows in a year in order to find that “perfect” bow. I bought the MR7 after shooting it. I have a long draw, 32″, so finding a bow that is forgiving, smooth, quiet and fast is not always easy in a long draw. After one month shooting the MR7, I sold all my other bows. I have taken four deer already in the first month. It is everything that I have wanted in a hunting bow. Thank you.

The MR7 has been the best holding, easiest to shoot and tune bow that I have ever owned.

When I got my MR7 out of the box, I threw some stuff on it and drove to the range.  I was amazed at how smooth the draw cycle was on a bow that was known for being a short axle to axle, speed bow.   After shooting the bow a few shots I began to notice how the pin just sat on the letter X in the center of the bullseye.  I soon began to realize that this bow held great.  I finished the night shooting a 300 with 50 X’s, my highest number of X’s ever! I have shot this bow a lot.  Probably the most amazing thing about it is the fact that I have never had to do any tuning beyond that first nights set up.

The MR7 has been the best holding, easiest to shoot and tune bow that I have ever owned.

It’s my choice to take to the woods

The MR7 is the most shooter friendly speed bow out there. It’s very fast, but more importantly, it’s easy to shoot! It’s my choice to take to the woods, but I wouldn’t hesitate to take it to a 3D tournament also. It’s that accurate! I have the confidence in my MR7 to take a shot at a world class whitetail, or take a shot worth thousands of dollars with the tournament on the line.

My MR7 is the best hunting bow I have shot.

My MR7 is the best hunting bow I have shot.  26″ draw, 60 lb, 305 gr. arrow and shoots 300 fps.  It doesn’t get much better than that.  I would recommend this bow for hunting or tournaments!

Accuracy, Speed and Design, the MR7 has it all!

Accuracy, Speed and Design, the MR7 has it all.  The entire Monster Series allows you to shoot a heavier arrow at a much more comfortable draw weight and still obtain remarkable speeds.  The Advanced Vectoring System is one of the finest developments to ever hit the archery market!
