Features

In 1992 Matt McPherson introduced the revolutionary concept of single-cam technology. His innovation changed archery forever! How? Timing and synchronization issues became history. As a result, accuracy improved, and recoil and noise nearly vanished. – The Hēlim cam culminates 20 years of single-cam advancements.
The Hēlim™ integrates the Grid Lock pattern in an advanced geometric design called Geo Grid Lock™. This technological breakthrough creates an ultra-rigid lightweight riser, making the Hēlim one of the industry’s lightest hunting bows.
Mathews’ proprietary SE5 Composite SlimLimb™ Technology raises performance and efficiencies to unprecedented levels and are nearly 20% lighter than tradition V-Lock™ Limb Systems.
In 1996 Mathews pioneered parallel-limb technology — now the industry standard in bow design. Parallel limbs travel in a vertical motion to cancel vibration and create a smoother, quieter bow.
Spherelock is our cutting-edge positive-locking limb cup system. Its trim, lightweight and pivots to ensure constant and positive downward limb pressure. SphereLock

The Reverse Assist™ Roller Guard reduces friction for a smoother draw cycle by positioning cables in a reverse manner; in front rather than behind the roller guard.  Traditional roller guards position cables on the back side of the roller guard and cause the cables to wrap tighter as the bow is drawn back and therefore places more pressure on the cables.  The Reverse Assist™ Roller Guard allows the cable to roll with less tension in a fully contained roller guard and ultimately makes the bow smoother since there is less tension on the cable.
Mathews Genuine Accessories are designed and manufactured to precise standards which optimize performance and provide perfect fit, finish and quality to your Mathews bow.   You’ll find Mathews innovation within each product and experience excellence in every shot. Find Mathews Genuine Accessories exclusively at Authorized Mathews Retailers.
New for 2011, the Harmonic Stabilizer evolves!  The Harmonic Stabilizer Lite will give optimum performance and reduce nearly 75% residual vibration and is nearly 70% lighter than the original Harmonic Stabilizer!
While they’ve become the visual identifier of a Mathews bow, Harmonic Dampers are weights that float in an elastomer wheel to absorb recoil vibration in the riser. The reduction in recoil vibration is so significant in this Mathews technology that is has been licensed for use in other industries.
Without String Suppressors bow strings would whiplash back and forth between the cam and idler wheel upon release. String Suppressors deaden that vibration making for a much quieter and smoother shot.
The Dead End String Stop Lite™ by Mathews drastically reduces vibration and virtually eliminates post-release noise.
Three Monkey Tails™ come standard on the NEW 2012 Hēlim. This equates to a minimal speed loss of 1-2 fps total with virtually all string and cable sound and vibration eliminated. Monkey Tails are available in a variety of colors. Customize your bow and view different color options installed with the Bow Visualizer
String GrubString Grubs aid in reducing string vibration in order to gain more speed.
The term “let-off” basically refers to the percentage of weight that is subtracted from the bows advertised draw weight. In other words, a bow set at 70lbs, with 80% let-off, will only require that the shooter hold back 14lbs of weight when the bow is at full draw.

The term “brace height” refers to the distance between the throat of the bow grip and the string. Brace height is important for many reasons. First, the shorter the brace-height, the faster the IBO speed rating will be. This is simply due to an increase in the bows power-stroke. In other words, the arrow remains on the string for a longer period of time because the string must travel a longer distance...read more
This is simply the minimum and maximum amount of weight required to bring the bow to full draw. Typically, this weight range is 10 pounds. For instance, a bow with a 60 pound peak draw weight will have a minimum of 50 pounds. Likewise, a 70 pound draw will carry a minimum draw-weight of 60 lbs. Overall draw weight can be increased or reduced (within this 10 pound range) by simply tightening or loosening the limb-bolts on each limb...read more
This is the actual weight of the bow. Bowhunters who typically hunt in demanding terrain will often favor a lightweight setup such as the all new Mathews Hēlim weighing in at a remarkable 3.5 lbs. or the Mathews Jewel, DXT or Z7 Xtreme. Such bows make long hikes over tough terrain much easier as the hunter experiences less fatigue. This can be a real asset over the course of a long backcountry hunt...read more
The term “let-off” basically refers to the percentage of weight that is subtracted from the bows advertised draw weight. In other words, a bow set at 70lbs, with 80% let-off, will only require that the shooter hold back 14lbs of weight when the bow is at full draw...read more
In order to reach your full potential as a shooter and a bowhunter it is important to be relaxed and comfortable when executing the shot. To achieve this situation, the bow must fit you properly; i.e. the draw length must be correct...read more
The bowstring has two purposes. First, it is used to transfer energy from the shooters arms and back muscles directly to the limbs of the bow. This allows the bow to be “drawn” and thus store energy. Second, it is used as a catalyst to transfer that energy from the limbs to the arrow...read more
The IBO speed rating for a bow is reached by shooting a 350 grain arrow at 70lbs of draw weight and 30 inches of draw length. This is important to remember because unless you are shooting the same specs used to attain IBO speed ratings, your bow of choice will not shoot as quickly as you might think...read more
This is the length of your bow as measured from the axle of the top idler wheel to the axle of the lower cam. When it comes to applying these dimensions to target shooting or hunting it is important to consider how and where the bow will be used...read more

Hēlim

Just received my new Hēlim Camo and believe me Mathews has done it again. I’ve came to the realization that they never cease to amaze me. The Hēlim is absolutely the smoothest and most quiet bow yet. As with “Other” brands a smaller bow meant less accurate. The accuracy of Hēlim proves that theory WRONG. It’s smooth draw, solid back wall, accuracy and speed make it the #1bow on the market. Once you’ve shot it you have to own it!

I won’t shoot anything but a Mathews!

I have whitetails on my mind 24/7, 365 days a year and I take very careful consideration as to my hunting set-ups.  Hunting out of a tree stand with a camera guy, or tucked into a ground blind, I need a bow that is not only super fast and quiet, but that is compact and easy to maneuver.  My Mathews fits the bill in every category.  I won’t shoot anything else!

The Single Cam Advantage

Single cam bows offer so many advantages over conventional two cam systems.  Not having to worry about cam timing and synchronization means everything to me both in the field or at a tournament.  Besides, no other bow on the market today draws as well as a Mathews

Top Notch, Zero Hype and Worth Every Penny and then some!

Top Notch, Zero Hype and Worth Every Penny and then some!

Traded my Bushmaster Varminter in on a Hēlim and it was the best move I have ever made! I had owned the rifle for 7 years and rarely used it and always wanted to get a Mathews bow. I took the Hēlim home and decided to sight it in. I couldn’t believe the groups I was shooting at 30 and 40 yards with it. I am a true believer that there is zero hype with Mathews and the price you pay is worth every penny and then some. Thanks for making a top notch product!
