Short and Sweet
This is one of those short and sweet stories. It was the first week of November, and the Whitetail rut was just kicking into full gear. My girlfriend ( who had tagged out on a beautiful Whitetail in Sept with her Mathews Passion) and I went for an afternoon scout and found a good scrap line to hang my stand. The next afternoon I climbed into my stand and within ten minuets caught a glimpse of a buck in the distance. I let a few soft doe bleats go but to no avail, so I switched to a buck grunt and after a short series of grunts I got my camera rolling and got ready for the shot. The buck came straight in to a scrape, turned broadside, and gave me the shot I needed to anchor him with my Mathews Switchback XT. The right time of year, good stand placement, a bit of luck, and most importantly gear I could trust made this hunt short and oh so sweet!
