Shoot Type: Whitetail
November rut buck
After going deer-less last year and my elk hunt in Colorado 2 weeks ago was less than stellar due to the hot weather, it was fitting to come back to PA and shoot this nice 8 point. After rattling once and a few grunts, this guy snuck in behind me after a 6 point was chasing 3 does in a thicket.
He caught me off-guard with my bow hanging up. He started walking away at a severe quartering angle, I grabbed my bow, hooked my release, drew and mouth grunted. The split second he stopped the 100gr Muzzy was released from the Mathews Heli-M and the pocket rocket hit home. He took off like a shot ran ~50 yards and I watched him do the “Curly Shuffle”. He was dead in about 4 seconds! The arrow angled really hard up under his ribs and took out at least one lung.
