Northern Illinois Buck

Northern Illinois Buck
It was one o’clock in the afternoon when I stepped off the airplane at O’Hare airport on Nov. 4th. I was in my driveway pulling out to hunt at 2:45pm. This was my second chance to get some tree time in for the year so I was pretty amped up to get in my favorite tree stand I call "The Producer". I was in my stand at about three thirty and had traffic coming thru fifteen minutes later. A doe came in being pushed by three different 1 1/2 year old bucks running her pretty hard. About five minutes later I could hear a buck grunting and coming up the same trail as my doe and her three love struck amigos. He came in right to my stand and gave me a perfect 15-yard shot broadside. I gave him a soft grunt and stopped him in is tracks. Forty yards later it was over and he was over on his side. He green scored out at 163 gross. He was my third Pope & Young Buck in four years that I was able to harvest from "The Producer" with my SQ2 that I purchased in September of 2001. All four Bucks that I have harvested with this bow have not traveled more than 40 yards. My Mathews SQ2 is on the mark!
