New Zealand Goat

August 24, 2004 by Alan Biddy

Tommy Johnson and I walked to the back side of Thompson Temple Ranch at Barksdale, Texas. This ranch is very hilly and rocky with Mesquite and Cedar bushes. We spotted this ram and I decided to try and get a shot. The goat disappeared behind the cedar bushed and that allowed me to ease up to where I could get a shot. The goat came back out into the road and was walking straight away from me. He walked about 15 yards from me and turned broadside. As I drew back he quartered toward me and I released my Beaman 400 with a 100 grain 4-blade muzzy. I hit him just in front of the left shoulder and it exited just behind the right shoulder. The goat took about 10 steps. My Legacy came through for me. Since then I have shot in seven 3-d tournements. I have won 4 of them, and placed 2nd and 4th. Im shooting the same equipment that I hunt with. Theres not a better bow than my Mathews Legacy.
