My 1st Whitetail Bow Kill!
I went out hunting with a buddy on his property on the afternoon of November 8th. I had never harvested a Whitetail with my bow before but had a good feeling about this afternoon. It was my late Father’s birthday, he had passed 8 years ago. He was the one that got me started hunting and taught me most of what I know. This 7 pointer came in about an hour into my hunt and was walking 35 yards past me at a brisk walk. I tried grunting to get him to stop, but he wasn’t having it. I knew I had one good shot a little bit ahead of him, so I picked my spot, drew back, and when he got to my spot I let it rip! Perfect shot! He ran about 25 yards and fell over in the middle of some tall grass. I sat in my stand, shaking like crazy, thanking my Father for all he had taught me. I’m not going to lie, a few tears were shed also. I had just had the best hunting day of my life!!!
