Shoot Type: Whitetail
Minnesota 8 pointer
November 1 is cold in Minnesota –
I saw this buck right at dusk, angling away from my stand, heading for a thick creek bottom. I gave him a few bleats on the Primos and his head came up, but he continued on. A few more bleats and he stopped. One more bleat and here he came. He got to a fence and stopped – now he was about 40 yards away. In my mind I said, "jump it" – and I was shocked when he did! Now he came toward me like he was on a string.
I let him come until he passed broadside at 8 yards – I could see my sight, and the deer, but thats about it. I had about 2 minutes of legal shooting time left. He entered a shooting lane almost at a stop… Thwack – my Mathews FeatherMax sent the carbon shaft on its short flight – and completely through the buck! He only went about 25 feet and collapsed!
What an awesome bow!
