Michigan Monster taken with Mathews Reezen 6.5
I was hunting in a 2-person ladder stand on my property in Barry County, Michigan on October 1, 2011. It was a cool sunny morning. At 8:00am I was sitting there enjoying the beauty of the woods with my bow hanging on a hook above me. Then I saw this big boy coming in from my right. He was heading right for my mowed path, which I knew was 20 yards away from me. I was covered by branches and leaves, so I was able to grab my bow and bring it to full draw before he stepped into my shooting lane. He was moving pretty briskly, so when he got in my lane I gave him a quick whistle. He stopped, and I only let him freeze for about 1/10th of a second before I let that arrow sail. I got a complete pass-through. The blood trail was just 80 yards. When I field-dressed him I found a 2″ slit from my Rage 2-blade broadhead right through the center of his heart. He has a beautiful 10-pt. rack and his field-dressed weight was 190 lbs.
