Mathews Q2 does the Job Again
Glassing from a high mountain top, I spotted a nice 6×6 bull elk in a clear cut late in the afternoon on the 3rd day of the hunt. It was an area that I was familiar with and my hunting partner, Shane Evans and I quickly cam up with a plan for the morning. The bull was all alone and we knew there was a good chance to call him in close. That next morning, we closed the distance to about 200 yards of the last spot wed seen him. We quickly set up and gave a couple of cow calls. The bull appeared from an opening and quickly walked our direction. When the bull was only 45 yards away, he gave a soft contact bugle as he cleared a slash pile of trees. Shane called to stop the bull at 30 yards and my Mathews Q2 flew true with a clean shot. The bull only ran a short 70 yards and fell behind another slash pile of trees. What a great moment!
