Homecoming Buck

October 2, 2000 by Michael Whiteside

This Buck was a great home coming gift. It was my first day in my treestand after 4 years of no deer hunting in Okinawa Japan and retireing from the U.S. Air Force. After 2 minutes of safe light I saw this bruiser about 70 yards heading away. It took about 7 minutes of nerve wrecking patience and a few grunts on my grunt call to coax him in for a 35 yard broad side shot. I hit lung/heart/lung with my 97 Zmax and he fell 10 yards from where the arrow pass through stuck in the ground.
This was my 13th deer with a bow, but when he fell and I new he was finished my legs shook so bad I could hardly get down from the tree…..
Ive just ordered my 9th Mathews bow, I have loved them all. Thank you Mathews for helping to make my hunting experiences and 3-D competitions bettere than ever….
