Hēlim HAMMERS A FALLOW DOE
I just got the new MATHEWS Hēlim 02/01/12 and took it on a recent fallow doe hunt at STONEBRIDGE HUNTING RANCH in stoystown PA. I wasn’t a big fan of long range shots with my old bow. i liked to take shots 20 yards or less. After i jumped ship to Mathews and started shooting my new heli-m i was shooting very tight groups at 30 yards (arrows touching) that i couldn’t even achieve at 20 with my old bow. when i was on my hunt i had dozens of fallow deer come into the 20 yard range but i figured “what the hay” im going to wait for a nice broadside 30 yard shot. when a fallow stopped at 32 yards i hit full draw, picked my spot, and touched the release. The fallow never flinched due to the whisper quiet bow and all you heard was the 100g 4 blade muzzy smash the fallow deer. it took maybe 4 steps and took a dirt nap. my bow is set up 57# 28.5in draw no more need to shoot 65-70 pounds and kill myself when i can HAMMER them with the Hēlim.
