First Tree Stand Buck

November 10, 2005 by Bill Lewis

After bow hunting on the ground for 25 years and harvesting a dear each year, a friend that belonged to my Bow Club found out that I didn’t have a tree stand and bought one for me. The first season I used it, I heard a loud crashing sound coming through the woods that morning. Turns out this large buck was trying to herd 5 does like a cowboy keeps together a small herd of cows. When he stopped in front of me at 30 yards my “Mathews LX” did the rest. A day I’ll never forget. Thanks Mathews
