FIRST TIME IN THE FIELD MATHEWS SUCEEDS AGAIN

June 9, 2006 by RICHARD JOHNSON JR

We head to south Texas for a full moon spot and stalk night hog hunt. We show up to the ranch at about 11:00pm . After unloading most of our gear and bows we were off to feed the roads and wait for the action to begin. About an hour and a half later we have our first feeding on the road (spot is done now time to stalk). After about 15-20 minutes, I have the hog within 30yds and feeding my way. He closes in to about 20 yds I draw back ,anchor, pick my spot and squeeze my release and send the arrow on its way. The hog ended up weighing 200lbs before field dressing it and had 2.5 in cutters on both sides. Thanks again Mathews for a wonderful seven years of great hunting. This hog was harvested with the new Swithback XT. I still have my original mathews mq1.
