First kill with Mathews

December 27, 2011 by Dustin Graber

Took a trip to S. Indiana with a few friends to hunt a great 300 acre piece of private land. After sitting for 2 hours on the first afternoon of the hunt I finally saw the first deer or the evening. It was a spike chasing a doe. After watching the spike and doe do a few circles around me i look back and see this deer walking towards me. He stopped at 50 yards to drink from a creek the continued to walk closer and presented a broadside shot at 15 yds. I drew my new Z7 Extreme Tactical and settled the pin. the shot was a little high and the deer dropped in its tracks when the arrow hit his spine. This is the first thing i harvested with the new bow and my biggest buck so far. The next afternoon I was able to harvest a nice doe to end the trip. Love the new bow and cant wait for the next hunt with it.
