First Deer with a Bow

October 15, 2005 by Kevin Anderson

It was the first morning of the West Virginia season. I was hunting the edge of an Iris garden. I saw two does working their way towards me through the pine thicket to my left. Suddenly I heard a "sniffing" sound behind me. This little guy had slipped in behind me and was right under my stand on the oppsite side of the tree. After a few seconds he got nervous and hopped into the pjnes and was heading away. I grunted at him and he turned broad side and looked back at me and thats when I cut my FX loose. The arrow was through him so fast even at 25 yards and spooked, he never had a chance to jump the string. The arrow went completly through and he piled up about 80 yards away. Thanks for such a fantastic bow and a chance to share my story.
