First buck with my new switchback
The third Saturday of the Illinois bow season found me in my tree pinned down by the watchful eye of a mature doe. She decided she had enough and started walking away when I heard steps coming from the opposite direction. It was this 7 point buck, my biggest to date, coming to the doe grunting with every step. I stopped him at 18 yards and sent my arrow through both lungs and buried it deep in the ground on the other side. He ran a short 30 yard loop then stopped and looked back over his shoulder. The Switchback is so fast and quiet he didnt even know he was hit and died on his feet 40 yards from my stand. This is my third deer with a Mathews bow and I will never shoot another bow. Thanks again for helping me harvest my biggest buck to date.
