Our started in the National Forest area outside of Chama the second week of Sept. Our first day started out grest, saw lots of bulls and they were screaming. Late that evening I hard a nice 5×5 come within 15 yards of my stand and started to roll in a mud hole just screaming his guts out. Being the first night I decided to past on him which almost turned out to be a mistake.
The next couple of days we had rain and everything dried up, what bulls we did see where several hundred yards away.
Finally on the fourth night with about 15 minutes of daylight left this average 5×5 just all of a sudden appeared, never made a sound and was alomost on top of me.He finally gave me a shot at about 28 yards. Did not hit him exactly where I wanted but the three blade Rage I used coupled with my Matthews bow tore him up.
I hunted with LOBO Outfitters, great outfitter with good guides and good food, can’t wait to do it again.
