Daniel Morgan 1ST BEAR KILL

June 17, 2005 by CHARLENE MORGAN

We told our son, Daniel, if he kept his grades up he could go with us to New Brunswick for spring bear. After three days of hunting with his dad and not seeing a bear and missing two snowshoe rabbits, he went with me on day four. I had shot my bear on day three. We were hunting from a ground blind and the bait was only 11 yards. Day four no bear. That changed on day 5. At 6:45 PM the 200 pound sow came in and gave him a near perfect broadside shot at 9 1/2 yards. His Switchback at 45 pounds with his well placed Gold Tip arrow and Crimson Talon 100 gr. helped her to expire within 40 yards of the ground blind. This took all of 5 minutes from the time we saw her until she expired. All the good grades and practice with his Switchback paid off. Thank you to all at Mathews for making products that can create such rewarding family time. Charlene
