Bow Kill #2 of the Year
Out to the stand at 3:00pm on the 19th of December I was out to fill my 2nd archery buck tag of 2012. With a heavy NE wind in my face I decided to climb down early to do some last second scouting. I walked 300 yards north to a small 3 acre C.R.P patch to glass the rest of my afternoon. From the ground I spotted antler tips, he was bedded only 60 yards away! With the strong wind in my face i was able to put the “Sneak Attack” on and closed the distance down to just under 30 yards. I drew my Reezen 6.5 from my knees and whistled at the buck to try to get him to stand, then softly yelled “hey”! He stood in what seemed slow motion quartering to me i settled my pin right in front of the shoulder and released the arrow…WACK!! The buck ran 200 yards and was down! With the heavy rain that was moving in we had to track him right after the shot, when we found him I had to “stick” him again to finish the deer… 177 inch Missouri 11 point! My best buck by 20 inches..THANK YOU Mathews!
