Shoot Type: Whitetail
Thanksgiving morning in Illinois was a windy morning but we decided to still go out hoping for a Thanksgiving deer. On our way to our spot for the morning we heard some deer in the corn next to us so we got up in a double ladder stand close to where we were standing. We waited for awhile listening to the deer moving around in the corn. About 10 minutes after the sun came up this big buck came chasing a doe by the stand and stopped in the open 30 yards away offering a perfect broadside shot. I drew my Mathews and sent the arrow on its way. Thanks to my Mathews Switchback I have a great deer on the ground.
