A Thanksgiving Bruiser

November 22, 2012 by Zac Schoch

Thanksgiving morning in Illinois was a windy morning but we decided to still go out hoping that the holiday would bring a little extra luck. On our way to our spot for the morning we heard some deer in the corn next to us so we got up in a double ladder stand close to where we were standing. We waited for awhile listening to the deer moving around in the corn. About 10 minutes after the sun came up this big buck came chasing a doe by the stand and stopped in the open 30 yards away offering a perfect broadside shot. I took my shot and knew right away it was lethal. We walked 40 yards before we found this giant and now thanks to my mathews I have a memory that will stick with me forever.
