Shoot Type: Bear
1st Bear with my new Z7
After 2 unsuccessful black bear seasons with only seeing 1 bear I was really looking forward to my 3rd season to try to put a bruin on the ground. I sat almost every day of September and passed on some different bear. On October 4th I got a phone call from a buddy who said his dad has had a nuisance bear coming into his whitetail bait. He asked if I would be interested in trying to get a shot at the bear. Low and behold after about an hour of posting, I looked up into the distance and saw the bear walking at about 150 yards. The bear turned and came right towards me and stopped at 18 yards away. I drew back, settled the pin behind the shoulder, and released. My new Z7 did it’s job as I watched the bear expire from the stand. I love my Mathews bow and I can’t wait until this coming fall.
