Competition News

  The ASA Shooter of the Year Awards were announced and three Mathews shooters won their respective classes. 

  In the Men’s Open Pro class Levi Morgan ran away with the Shooter of the year award.  Morgan outdistanced the field by 35 points to win the award.  Darrin Christenberry was second and Tim Gillingham was third.  Mathews had seven of the top ten finishers in the class.  The rest of the top ten included: Jeff Hopkins, 5^th place; Joseph Goza, 7^th place; Mark Thompson, 9^th place and Richard Leftwich, 10^th place.

  Michael Nicholson won the Shooter of the Year award in the Limited Pro class.  Second place went to Brian Goza and Gene Curry was third.  Mathews finished with nine of the top ten finishers.  The rest of the top ten included: Larry Goza, 4^th place; Chris Stachler, 6^th place; Rodney Huffman, 7^th place; Kerry Klund, 8^th place; Charlie Owens, 9^th place and Gary Rigney in 10^th place.

  In the Senior Pro class, Tom Crowe won the Shooter of the Year Title.  Richard Freeland was 2^nd and Lynn Morrison was 3^rd.  Mathews had eight of the top ten finishers.  The rest of the top ten included: Burley Hall, 4^th place; Les Bressler, 5^th place; Bill Ruck, 6^th place; Charles Blankenship, 7^th place and Randall Jones in 9^th place.

  In the Women’s Pro class, the top Mathews finisher was Samantha Morgan who finished in 2^nd place.  Jeanna Allbritain was 3^rd.  Mathews finished with six of the top ten finishers in the class.  The rest of the top ten included: Connie Calloway, 7^th place; Andrea Nicholson, 8^th place; Connie Griffin, 9^th place and Annette Pettigrew in 10^th place.
