I am looking to upgrade from a 12 year old bow and pretty much settled on the ZXT. My local shop only has 1 bow I can shoot. I am going to want between 62 and 65 pounds at 28″ draw. Has anybody got some knowledge or input for the following.
    1. How much speed do I lose shooting 28″ draw at 65 pounds vs IBO specs of 30″ draw at 70 pounds? Assuming the same 350 grain arrow

    2. Are 60# limbs maxed out at 62 pounds more efficient than 70# limbs set at 65 pounds?

    Thanks
    Greg

you should get about 285-290fps with that setup if tuned properly. get the 65lb. limb option.

I will go with the 65# limb option.

Can anybody give me an approx speed loss, since I will be shooting 5 pounds below the IBO rating??

    Thanks

    :D Old school rule…
IBO speeds are based on a bow with a 30″ draw set at 70lbs shooting a 350gr arrow.
-For every inch of draw length you go down you will lose 10 FPS
-For every 5# draw weight you go down you will lose 10 FPS
-For every 3 grains of weight your arrow is over IBO ( 5 grains per pound) you will lose 1 FPS
-For every 3 grains of weight you add to your string you will lose 1 FPS :D
