I am getting my helim bow out for the tail end of turkey season here in Iowa.  I have been shooting my bow periodically throughout the winter, but I was just wondering if there was anything that I should be doing to tune-up my bow.  I’m not talking about checking sights, etc., but I am actually talking about the bow itself.  Is there anything I should be tuning or tweaking on the bow for the beginning of the year (cleaning) etc.

    Thanks for the help!

Check your string and cables and serving for wear.  It is cheaper to reserve than to replace.  They stretch so check your draw length is still good.  Also check the setting of the string stop.

Check your d- loop hasn’t stretched out or worn.

Also check the screws holding the sight and quiver.

    all that’s on the bow.

check your arrows for cracks — shaft and nocks

check your release for worn or loose parts as well.

    lighted pins — check batteries.
