I am wondering if this buck would meet your standards??? I know there are bigger deer running around that area. What do you think

Depends on your goals. Is this area going to be a QDM area for you? If so then I say no. He is a young deer and still has a lot of growing to do. The OLDEST I would age him is 3 1/2 :thumbup

I wouldn’t shoot him, but don’t even take that as “he’s not up to my standards”. Not that at all. I simply have opportunity for older bucks and that’s what I prefer to hunt.

I would shoot him around here though. A 3 year old deer here is about as smart as they get :thumbup

that would be an awsome bow kill w/ all that junk, but if you gave him 1 more year he would be out of this world cool!! its easy to say that by looking a pic and making the call, its a diferent story when hes 20yrd and leaving. ither way you made the right decition!! good luck, and if ya get him i want PICS!!

    yep.

left beam has some character to it!

while the arguements have been made that this would be a fine animal next year………….i think he’s pretty good.

a lot of the answers to this question will also vary by which part of country youre in.

hope you get a up close and personal look at him during the daylight hours!

I’d have to agree with Buckbuster. Looking at him here it is easy to say no or maybe, but in the woods it is a different matter. For the past 3 years I’ve gotten pictures of bucks that I said no way would I shoot. all 3 years I ended up shooting them. Something inside of you changes when he’s 20 yards away.
