Neil where is a good place where you can buy that super tack? I’ve looked all over for it and can’t find it. The regular serving thread works but I’d like something with a little more grip.
Send me yer address i will send ya whatever you need ..got lots…

Thanks Neil!eliminate’s the need for the instalatzion of the string stops[/b]…another asset is it prevents any wear on string also..not that the whiskers cause wear unless the whiskers were not tied in proper and were loose..
Downside… you loose approx 2 ft per…Still IMO the benefits outweigh this minimal speed loss..

With the newer fast bows we highly recommenced serving the string 1 inch where the whiskers are going to sit on string..[Again 2 " from suppressor at top and 3" from suppressor on bottom] if the string is not served in that area…
…The higher speeds favor the serving more than the “Stops” mentioned earlier and with different bows some whiskers work up the string and others down…the 1″ serving eliminates any movement what so ever and protects the string also…
Neil
Placement on the NEW Z7 with grub and surpressor..
still provides lots of room

Thats set up just like my bow .LOL Its dead quiet with the wiskers on itHow much FPS loss will I expect to see using these cat whiskers? How much FPS loss will I expect to see using these cat whiskers?
Hey David…pending on the bow it varies…It is less than most think..due to the placement of the whiskers..On a Chrony we found up to 4-5 FPS on some models less on others…some with Grubs can have grub removed and replaced with whiskers with no speed loss to speak of…
Well worth any speed loss IMO for whisper quite bow IMO
Neil
Would you happen to know the best placement location for the whiskers on the string of an SQ2? Also how would monkey tails do if I were to put some on the cable? Would I loose any speed & where would I put them on cable? It may be an old bow but I love it too much to let it go.

I would put top whisker on string above where cable starts the Y on yoke and the bottom approx the same or if bow has “weighted string”..the thingy on string that looks like nocks covered in shrink tube… just above it.For monkey tails on cable…it will absolutely nothing to do with speed…
and will not effect speed…the monkey tails will do nothing but quite your bow that much more…intstall them mid way from cam/idler wheel and cable guard..
NeilThank You for the quick reply Neil
My bow is already Super Quiet but if the monkey tails do not effect the speed in any way I’m going to put some on it because you can never be too quiet when hunting whitetails

..the more ways you can quite a bow down without effecting flight is a super bonus…Sims limb savers will also help the SQ2
NeilI have read that the monkey tails do not last long before they come off
Would you happen to know about how long they would last without coming off if I were to only put them on the cable ?

I am not sure why many shooters blow them off regularly…we have replaced only a couple…mind you we take most off strings to be replaced with whiskers…
I believe the bow has to be kept in tune…for longer life.on the cable they should last a long time as they don’t take as much abuse as on string…most likely cause of weakening will be most likely depend on how much exposer to UV…

NeilNeil,I shoot a SQ2 & have cat whiskers on the string & was thinking about
putting some cat whiskers on the cable also, but trimming the length down a little bit on the whiskers{Mini Whiskers} I put on cable.
How do you think this will work because I know the whiskers will last for a good while
Do you know of any problems that this may cause or does it sound like a good idea
